Can filters be washed and reused?
Reusable filters can be washed and replaced. However, the disposable filters you use in your HVAC system aren’t made to shed water after they get wet. The moisture the filter retains can encourage mold growth over time, and your HVAC system might spread the mold spores throughout the rest of your home.
Can a blue air filter be washed?
Blueair filters cannot be cleaned or washed. They need to be replaced every 6 months.
Can HEPA filters be washed and reused?
A permanent or washable HEPA filter can be cleaned and reused multiple times as long as it is done properly without damaging the filter. Most permanent HEPA filters can be cleaned gently with a vacuum cleaner, while a washable HEPA filter can be cleaned by rinsing it in cold water.
Does air filter have to be completely dry?

After rinsing, gently shake off excess water. Allow filter to dry naturally for 20-30 minutes. The filter does not need to be completely dry and can be slightly damp before moving to the next step.
Can you wash carbon filters?
A: A carbon filter can not be usefully washed. Carbon chemically bonds loosely with various (airborne) chemicals. Water will not wash off these bonded chemicals.
